You may have the practical skills to make beautiful hats but how do you approach the design aspect? How do you develop your own “handwriting” when creating your designs? This workshop will help you build confidence in depicting your ideas and improve your drawing techniques as you study the design process. During this one-day workshop, you will explore: 1. Ideas and project themes 2. Produce a mindmap of ideas 3. The importance of sketchbooks and how to use them. 4. Moodboards or ideas sheets and why they are different from sketchbooks. 5. Gathering and collating this information You do not need to be able to draw to do this workshop! An assortment of drawing equipment, glue, magazines, fabrics and A1 cartridge paper will be provided. Please bring an A4 sketchbook, scissors, pens and pencils. If you can possibly bring paints, crayons, etc. and old magazines and scraps of fabric that would be helpful but not essential.
